The Events Assistant will play an important and active role in the Atlanta Humane Society’s community presence through event planning and execution as well as relationship and fundraising development. As a member of AHS’s Community Engagement team, this position will have the opportunity to develop and implement robust fundraising and marketing plans for raising money and spreading the word about... community events. Along with building opportunities for new and exciting events, the Events Assistant will take on the planning and execution of highly successful and engaging events like Puppy Yoga, Paint Your Pet, and puppy pop-ups. Duties & Responsibilities • Planning and execution of community engagement and fundraising events • Assist in implementation of fundraising plans and grow community-based programs, partnerships, and other engagement initiatives that help the organization achieve its mission • Assist with identifying and deepening relationships with various community stakeholders • Oversees aspects of and assists with major fundraising events throughout the year as needed • Responsible for managing and achieving monthly revenue goals & expense budget • Other duties as assigned • High School Diploma or equivalent • Customer service driven • Public speaking skills and comfortable working with groups • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with individuals or groups • Discretion in handling confidential information • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both orally and in writing. and ability to walk or stand for up to 8 hours at a time with reasonable accommodations • Work is preformed in both an office setting as well as onsite at events
