This position is part time but comes with a lot of responsibility and opportunities. This position DOES require travel at various points throughout the year. This is a wonderful kick-starter opportunity for someone with an interest in Events & Conference management. An assistant events manager is responsible for supporting the events manager in the planning and execution of events. This can include but limited to the following: Key Responsibilities: * Coordinate with vendors to secure necessary services and supplies for events * Oversee event set-up and breakdown, including coordinating with event staff and volunteers (some travel will be required which would be completely covered) * Manage event budgets and expenses, when necessary (training will be provided) * Handle logistics for events, including transportation, accommodation, and catering arrangements, when necessary, under advisement of event Manager * Manage event staff and volunteers, including scheduling, training, and supervision * Interact with clients to understand their needs and ensure that events meet their expectations during events * Assist in the management and distribution of event proposals and contracts when required (this would be much later into the job after you're comfortable) * Handle event-related communications and correspondence where required Education and Experience Requirements: A bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality management, marketing, public relations, or a related field is preferred, although relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree 1-2 years of experience in event planning or related field is preferred but we'll consider highly motivated people who can properly express why they would be a good fit for this type of role.Create an account to see the full posting, access our search engine, and more.
