About the position We are looking for a visionary organizer to lead the strategy and execution of our events, including our flagship manufacturing careers roadshow series. You will oversee the planning and execution of internal and external events, supporting the ReadyCT team and our mission every step of the way.\nWHO WE ARE:\nReadyCT is a statewide 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works to advance academic excellence and career-connected learning for all public school students in Connecticut through collaboration with business, civic, and education leaders. Businesses continue to respond well to the programming; last year, over 230 Connecticut businesses of all sizes and across all sectors worked alongside ReadyCT to inform our programming efforts.\nReadyCT also maintains a presence in legislative circles, advocating for policies that (1) systematically improve Connecticut public education, with an emphasis on advancing access and equity, and (2) advance workforce shortage solutions (from a K-12 perspective) that aid in providing Connecticut employers with the talent they need to sustain and grow their businesses.\nReadyCT is an affiliate of CBIA, the CT Business & Industry Association, which is the largest, most representative business organization in the state. A passion for education and developing the potential of ALL students.A bachelor's degree (preferred) or commensurate work experience.3-5 years of experience in event planning and/or project management.A proven ability to build and manage relationships across a diverse array of stakeholders.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in event planning software (e.g., Eventbrite and Mailchimp) and Google Workspace.Comfort working in uncertain situations with an aptitude for problem-solving.Composure under pressure and commitment to customer focus.Flexibility with work schedules and reliable transportation for travel within the state of Connecticut, as needed, for on-site event selection and management.Frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and crouching required in preparation for and during events and program activities.Consistent operation of computers, office equipment, and presentation technology (e.g., projector, copy machine, printer).Benefits
