Events Specialist

The University of California, Riverside (UCR) is seeking an experienced and highly organized Events Specialist to provide exceptional event coordination and support for the University’s events. The ideal candidate should have a positive attitude, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and an eye for detail. The Events Specialist should be passionate about helping to create a memorable experience for UCR’s guests and have the ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.To be successful in this role, it is essential that the Events Specialist have at least two years of experience in event planning, have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and possess a thorough understanding of the principles of event management and logistics. The Events Specialist should also be knowledgeable of the University’s policies and procedures and be able to provide creative solutions to challenges.\n\nResponsibilities:
Provide exceptional event coordination and support for the University’s events.
Maintain a positive attitude and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Help create a memorable experience for UCR’s guests.
Multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
Possess at least two years of experience in event planning.
Have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Possess a thorough understanding of the principles of event management and logistics.
Be knowledgeable of the University’s policies and procedures
Provide creative solutions to challenges.
Track and report event metrics.
Manage vendor contracts and relationships.
Coordinate event logistics including transportation, catering, and audio/visual needs.
Develop and manage event budgets.
Monitor event timelines and ensure all tasks are completed on schedule.
Assist in the promotion and marketing of events.
Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and security regulations.
