Events Supervisor

Supervise, assign, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for the coordination of entertainment and logistics for a variety of assigned events. Associate's degree in business, marketing, communications, psychology, sociology, theatre/fine art, public relations or education; and Five (5) years of event or program planning experience; and To include one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience. Preferred Knowledge • Operations, services and activities of an event planning program • Operations, services and activities of theatrical performances and event planning program • Venue rental operations and procedures • Principles and practices of entertainment and event planning • Principles and practices of entertainment, theatrical performances and event planning • Microsoft Office Suite • Recent developments, current literature and information related to assigned programs • Principles and practice of contract negotiation and administration • Principles of supervision, training and performance evaluation • Modern and complex principles and practices of planning for special events • Modern and complex principles and practices of computerized box office/ticketing systems • Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations Preferred Skills & Abilities • Maintain a high level of organization for numerous events happening within short periods of time • Supervise, organize, and review the work of lower level staff including contract or temporary employees • Select, supervise, train and evaluate staff • Coordinate and direct assigned events or services • Coordinate with food vendors • Coordinate entertainment and logistics at assigned events • Ability to review, analyze and secure vendors and reconcile invoices for assigned events • Prepare facility rental applications and contract paperwork • Coordinate the maintenance and repair of assigned event facilities • Elicit community and organizational support for cultural activities and art programs • Interpret and explain City policies and procedures • Prepare clear and concise reports • Communicate clearly and concisely • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work including City officials and the general public • Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation • Work flexible hours including evenings and weekends 01 Are you bilingual in English/Spanish? 03 Do you possess the lead or supervisory experience outlined in the minimum requirements?
