Zeffert & Gold Catering is seeking an experienced, organized, and hospitality-driven Event Manager to oversee the successful execution of weddings, corporate events, social celebrations, and other catered events throughout the Baltimore–Washington region.

Our Event Managers are the on-site leaders responsible for bringing each event to life. They coordinate staff, manage timelines, communicate with clients and vendors, and ensure every detail reflects our standards for exceptional food, thoughtful service, and intentional hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

• Review event details, timelines, floor plans, menus, and client expectations before each event

• Lead event setup, service, breakdown, and venue cleanup

• Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients, planners, venues, and vendors

• Direct and support servers, bartenders, porters, and other event staff

• Conduct pre-event staff meetings and clearly assign responsibilities

• Coordinate closely with culinary and operations teams throughout the event

• Monitor food presentation, service timing, guest experience, and overall event flow

• Anticipate challenges and resolve issues calmly and professionally

• Ensure company equipment, rentals, and supplies are properly handled and returned

• Complete post-event reports and communicate relevant feedback to the leadership team

• Uphold all company policies, safety standards, and service expectations

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience managing catered events, weddings, hospitality operations, or banquet service

• Strong leadership and team-management skills

• Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail

• Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment

• A hands-on leadership style and willingness to assist wherever needed

• A genuine commitment to hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences

• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds

• Experience with event timelines, banquet service, rentals, and catering logistics is preferred

Position Details

• Full-time position

• Schedule varies based on the event calendar

• Evening and weekend availability is required

• Compensation: $[65,000-$85,000] per year
