This role reports directly to the Horsemen Relations Manager and focuses on enhancing the experience of Keeneland’s horsemen and core clientele. The position is integral in delivering concentrated efforts related to guest experience, convenience, and consistent service. Acting as the first point of contact for many clients, the individual in this role will represent Keeneland with professionalism and grace. Responsibilities include overseeing events, hospitality, reservations, and programs designed to celebrate and recognize achievements within the racing community. This encompasses race day accommodations, hospitality coordination, trophies management, sales-related gifting, and much more.
Key areas of responsibility include managing horsemen’s hospitality and race day reservations, coordinating accommodations for sales team members and horsemen for stakes and non-stakes events, and ensuring seamless collaboration across departments. Additional duties involve supervising trophy programs such as the undercard Julep Cup and milestone trophies, coordinating recognition events for owners, trainers, and jockeys, and managing guest lists and details for special events. The role also supports gifting programs that strengthen ties between Keeneland sales clients and the brand, emphasizing high-impact, functional gifts.
Standard operating procedures, budgeting, and maintaining clear and cohesive communication styles within the department fall under this position’s purview as well. It demands a proactive, solution-oriented individual who can handle multiple projects, coordinate complex events, and work independently to ensure timely execution of event elements and activations. This is a dynamic role suited for a dedicated professional passionate about horse racing and client relations, with a strong work ethic and excellent judgment skills.
The position requires availability during peak seasons, including nights and weekends, and demands physical capabilities to stand, walk, and move up to 50 pounds regularly. Keen attention to detail, discretion, and strong computer skills are essential to success in this role. Comfortable working in a moderate noise environment, the candidate will be part of a respected institution with a commitment to excellence, tradition, and community engagement.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in event coordination or hospitality
