The Manager of Events will help establish and implement SPLC’s event strategy, producing events that cultivate strong relationships, enhance brand perception, and support the mission of SPLC. Education and Related Work Experience: • A minimum of five years of event design, strategy and execution, including mid-to-large scale in-person events; • A minimum of three years of supervisory experience; and • High School Diploma or GED. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Proven success in event planning or coordination; • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; • Experience in building and maintaining positive business relationships; • Excellent organizational skills, including multitasking, time management, and attention to detail; • Ability to handle pressure and make good decisions quickly; • Experience in marketing or public relations; • Experience working with multiple stakeholders at various levels including inter-department stakeholders, and external partners, to determine event/meeting goals and provide expertise and guidance to assist them in meeting their goals; • Ability to travel domestically for events and meetings, as needed; • Commitment to ideals of justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion; and • Commitment to fostering an anti-racist work culture and to anti-racist principles and learning. Work Designation: • Local Remote: Will work remotely, but is expected to attend work-related activities that occur at the SPLC offices or in the states in which the SPLC operates.
