Manager, Events Management

Founded in 1880 as The American Society of Mechanical Engineers, ASME is a nonprofit professional organization that enables collaboration, knowledge sharing, and skill development across all engineering disciplines, while promoting the vital role of the engineer in society. The Manager, Events Management is responsible for the management of in-person and hybrid Society conferences and assigned meetings. Registration management Maintains oversight of contractors and subcontractors hired for individual events Coordinate the planning, production and marketing procedures with regard to development of promotional literature, including copywriting and meeting supplies Provide on-site conference management and conduct conference evaluations Develop and review, on an on-going basis, the marketing and promotional plan for each event Responsible for budget preparation, monthly accruals, and invoice reconciliation Maintains historical database for each event, including financial information, planning and operations, logistics and attendance Liaise with the conference planning committee and staff members in other directorates and related suppliers Coordinate advertisement, sponsorship, and exhibit programs as they relate to specific events Communication – Excellent oral and written presentation Relationship Management – Ability to work well with teams in diverse, complex, and changing environments Problem Solving – Ability to identify key issues, gather data to investigate those issues, and develop actionable recommendations Project Management – A detailed approach and ability to work independently and remain organized in order to meet commitments and balance competing priorities Technical: Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting and financial management Experience with contract negotiations and management Our Equal Employment Opportunity policy pertains to every aspect of an individual’s relationship with the organization, including but not limited to recruitment, hiring, compensation, benefits, training and development, promotion, programs, and all other terms and conditions of employment.
