DescriptionThe Humana Meeting & Event Planning Internship provides the opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets of both in-person and virtual event planning and implementation. Our internship offers the opportunity to gain professional experience, utilize current industry technologies, further develop communication and presentation skills, and experience skills in team collaboration and customer service.ResponsibilitiesHumana is seeking Meeting & Event Planning intern that will be responsible for:Assisting with program sourcing, detailing, execution, and reconciliationSupporting the Simple Meetings ProgramCustomer satisfaction metrics reportingBuilding event websites and registration formsEvent participant managementBy the completion of the internship, the student can expect to have:A working knowledge of venue sourcingThe ability to develop an event budgetExperience utilizing Cvent for sourcing, registrations, and event websitesExperience working with hotels/venues on Banquet Event Orders, Room Blocks, and AV ordersGained network connections within the industryBuilt customer service skillsPlanned an event from intake to reconciliationRequired QualificationsCurrently pursuing a degree in Event ManagementStrong and effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skillsMust not require sponsorship to work in the U.S. now or in the futureAbility to work professionally with colleagues and vendorsAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple prioritiesIntermediate use in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPointPreferred QualificationsHave a strong academic history, with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA being desiredBasic knowledge of Cvent is a plusAdditional InformationMinimum availability 30 hours/week, Monday-Friday between 8:30am and 5:30pm Eastern during the summer/while on break from schoolMinimum availability 20 hours/week, Monday-Friday between 8:30am and 5:30pm while actively taking classesAbility to support weekday evening eventsReliable internet connection requiredScheduled Weekly Hours30Humana complies with all applicable federal civil rights laws and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or religion.
