The role of Meeting and Event Planner at Land O'Lakes is a hybrid position, requiring presence in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, while allowing flexibility on other days. This position is vital to the successful planning, coordination, and execution of both internal and external meetings and events that support the Land O'Lakes enterprise. The Meeting and Event Planner is tasked with managing multiple events simultaneously, ranging in size from 50 to 300 attendees. This requires a deep understanding of event planning principles, practices, and industry standards.
As part of the enterprise meeting and events team, the Meeting and Event Planner collaborates closely with stakeholders and internal partners across the company to ensure seamless event execution. The planner leads the full lifecycle of events, including project planning, creative experience design, budgeting, registration, hotel and venue management, transportation, and gifting. They are responsible for sourcing and managing vendors such as Destination Management Companies (DMCs), audio-visual teams, production staff, entertainment, and designers. Additionally, the planner stays current with the latest experiential innovations and trends to continuously enhance event experiences.
The ideal candidate brings at least five years of professional meeting and event planning experience, preferably in a corporate environment, with proven expertise in vendor sourcing, negotiating, and contracting. They are adept at handling complex logistics such as audiovisual setups, catering, transportation, and hotel accommodations, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail and high-quality execution. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential, as is the capability to build strong relationships across various organizational levels, including senior leadership.
This position requires occasional travel (up to 20%) and flexibility to work evenings and weekends when necessary. Candidates must have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with event registration systems, preferably Cvent. Physical endurance to stand, walk long distances, and lift items up to 40 pounds is also required. The salary range for this role is between $70,800 and $106,200, with most hires expected near the middle of this range.
