Overall, the Meetings & Events Manager at Vertex plays a critical role in ensuring that each meeting and event not only meets strategic goals but also is executed with excellence, promoting the company’s values and advancing its mission of scientific innovation and patient care. • Bachelor's degree • Typically requires 6 years of experience related to meeting and event planning, or the equivalent combination of education and experience related to meeting and event planning • Ability to travel domestically and globally at least 30-40% of the time • Good understanding of HCP compliance and reporting regulations • Strong meeting planning experience • Developed contract negotiations skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to simultaneously keep multiple projects prioritized with tight deadlines • Experience working in multi-cultural settings (for roles located ex-US) • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite • Project management experience • Pharmaceutical experience • Supplier/vendor management experience • Prior working knowledge of Cvent Event Management software program
