Meetings and Events Coordinator

The meetings and events coordinator is responsible for overseeing particular tasks throughout the event planning process and meeting coordination. The MEC will be part of the King Center's Events Department which is responsible for all of the event preparations, such as choosing venues, approving menus, developing seating plans, and evaluating success afterward. Excellent communication and attention to detail skills are vital in this role, as our success depends on meeting The King Center's tailored requirements. and choose the best combination of quality and cost • Negotiate with vendors to achieve the most favorable terms • Plan and coordinate special internal meetings (including a budget, meals /refreshments, materials, and location/venue) • Manage all event operations (preparing venue, invitations, etc.) Background, Experience, and Education: • Proven experience as an event coordinator • A proven track record of organizing successful events • Proficient in MS Office • Excellent vendor management skills • Knowledge of basic recruitment practices • Outstanding communication and negotiation ability • Well-organized with multi-tasking skills • Able to handle stress and remain calm • Problem-solving ability • Degree in hospitality management, public relations, or relevant field is required
