Essential Job Functions • Exceed catering revenue sales goals by achieving established solicitation expectations, sales calls, and site visits • Solicit social and corporate catering business (weddings, local/regional banquets, corporate banquets or meetings with 15 or less guestrooms per night) • Maximize event space to meet revenue objectives • Conduct presentations to event planners and planning committees for the purposes of developing a booking • Attend wedding shows and trade shows when appropriate; evaluate, select and prepare strategic objectives for trade show participation and execution • Develop and maintain a well-informed, working knowledge of competing catering venues in the area • Responsible for contract execution within established guidelines • Responsible for detailing and BEO/Group Resume creation of all contracted events • Create room diagrams for events and order linen • Maintain PAR Linen and order when necessary • Coordinate and communicate internal and external event details both verbally and in writing to client and internal operations teams • Maintain forecast schedule, banquet event order distribution and other operational reports • Communicate effectively within key departments – Chef, F&B, Banquets, Hotel, Guest Services, Facility Operations • Flexibility to shift schedule for greeting/visibility at events • Coordinate hotel rooming list follow-up including email communication, phone follow-up, and scheduling client meetings as needed • Entering rooming lists into hotel system, update changes and send invoices accordingly • Work with outside vendors to ensure client needs are met • Finalize event billing procedures with a keen attention to detail • Attend weekly BEO and Forecast meetings • All other duties as assigned Preferred Qualifications • A positive and friendly attitude towards guest, customers, and fellow employees • Must have high level of interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public to serve as liaison to high profile members of the community and the tourism industry • Ability to safeguard confidential information • Must be extremely detailed with outstanding communication skills • Ability to work with minimal supervision • Capability to multi-task and manage planning of multiple events at once • Previous experience working with BEO’s • Outstanding demonstration in meeting strict deadlines • Ability to handle tense or stressful situations • High level of computer knowledge including all Microsoft Office programs, and event management software
