Meetings and Events Coordinator

The meetings and events coordinator is responsible for overseeing particular tasks throughout the event planning process and meeting coordination. Excellent communication and attention to detail skills are vital in this role, as our success depends on meeting The King Center’s tailored requirements. Essential to this role is the planning of The King Center’s signature events for the annual King Holiday Observance (KHO) and choose the best combination of quality and cost • Negotiate with vendors to achieve the most favorable terms • Plan and coordinate special internal meetings (including a budget, meals /refreshments, materials, and location/venue) • Manage all event operations (preparing venue, invitations, etc.) Background, Experience, and Education: • Proven experience as an event coordinator • A proven track record of organizing successful events • Proficient in MS Office • Excellent vendor management skills • Knowledge of basic recruitment practices • Outstanding communication and negotiation ability • Well-organized with multi-tasking skills • Able to handle stress and remain calm • Problem-solving ability • Degree in hospitality management, public relations, or relevant field is required
