The Event Planning Manager is responsible for servicing sales groups. • Executing on-site events and ensuring high-level service throughout the pre-event, event, and post-event phases • Plan, upsell, and detail the program with the client • Recognizes opportunities to maximize revenue by upselling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events • Assist the Director of Catering Sales and Events with any pertinent duties • Organize, plan and prioritize your duties by developing plans and goals • Timely communication to clients via telephone, email, written documents or in person • Create and maintain relationships with clients including hosting planning tours and meetings • Make decisions and solve problems by analyzing and evaluating the issues and determining the best solution • Reviews meeting planner surveys and follows up with clients • Adheres to all standards, policies, and procedures • Ensures billing accuracy and conducts bill reviews with the clients prior to processing the final bill • Manages group room blocks and meeting space for groups • Identifies operational challenges associated with their group and determines how to best work with the property staff and client to solve these opportunities and / or develop alternative solutions • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs • High school diploma or GED required; College related degree preferred • 1 – 2 years of experience in event management, preferably for a full-service hotel • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed • Excellent customer relations, communication, presentation, and organization skills are of utmost importance.
