Organizing and Event Coordinator

Status: Full-time regular, salary Student Advocacy Center is seeking an education justice leader passionate about community and youth organizing, developing leadership, providing supportive and flexible supervision, and activating community members into the work of building healthy and healing community schools. This position will be part of our leadership team, oversee our youth organizers, oversee agency-wide organizing strategy, and work to activate and engage donors, caregivers and community members into local and state actions that improve public schools for our families. • Support co-creation and implementation of SAC’s organizing strategic plan and strategy chart. • Facilitate monthly caregiver organizing meetings in Ypsilanti with support of Executive Director and support actions of caregivers (i.e. school board meeting public comment, petitions, one on ones with school board members, forums, annual advocacy day in Lansing) • Work with engaged community members to plan 6 small gatherings every year to develop their leadership, and engage more community members in our work.
