This position is likely to involve variable hours but average 24 - 32 hours with a mix of weekday and weekend hours determined by event needs. There will be some weeks where less hours are needed and some weeks with more hours and the incumbent will have some flexibility to plan around personal needs. Late nights are often involved on event dates, and our event schedule is normally known well in advance to make planning much easier. We're looking for an exceptional person who cannot only help plan and manage very detail-oriented events but also handle event setup and assist with sales and other office responsibilities.
Job Requirements:
- Must have at least 2 years of experience related to event management, weddings or food service management.
- Must have a strong academic background with a 4-year college degree.
-Must be able to work on Mondays as needed.
- Must be warm, friendly, genuine, able to quickly connect with people, and willing to always make customer service a top priority.
- Must have a strong interest in working in the wedding industry and learning to plan and execute wedding events.
- Must have a strong work ethic and be willing to do whatever it takes to make events successful.
- Must be willing to plan your life (when possible) around our event needs. This will typically involve working one to two evening events on many weekends. Sometimes shifts will be earlier and sometimes later.
- Must enjoy opportunities to be creative in designing events and setting up décor.
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills (will be communicating with clients), and be consistently accurate with basic math and numbers.
- Must be organized, thorough and attentive to details.
- Must have good common sense and judgment in making decisions and working with clients.
- Must be reliable, responsible and have a professional appearance.
- Must have high energy and be able to handle stairs (we could not get an elevator in Loose Mansion). Our event managers handle setup needs.
