DescriptionThe Manager, Private Events is responsible for planning and managing private events of varying sizes and purposes including weddings, private events, corporate events and sports banquets. The Manager, Private Events will be responsible for communicating with all customers/hosts, coordinating all logistics, accommodating special requests, maintaining budgets and ensuring all events are carried out to the highest level of customer satisfaction. The Manager, Private Events will also support the Experience Team with all large property-wide events and festivals as needed.The ideal candidate for this position will:Have a service-oriented can-do attitudeStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills with attention to detailThrive in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure while managing multiple tasksHave proven people and task management skillsMaintain Blake’s core values and mission statement through elevated guest experience.Uphold company policies per the Standard Operating Procedures, Employee Policy Manual and Code of ConductResponsibilities and Duties:Organize facilities and manage all events details such as decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, etcWork with Kitchen Manager to accommodate all dining needsWork to schedule and coordinate staffing per the needs of the eventProactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on the event dayCollaborate with marketing to promote and publicize eventsConduct pre- and post – event evaluations and report on outcomesProvide feedback and periodic reports to stakeholdersPropose ideas to improve provided services and event qualityResearch market, identify event opportunities and generate interestPropose new event conceptsEstablish and maintain relationships with all customers and vendorsPlan event details and aspects, including floor plans, dining, and overall flowCreate accurate quotes and proposals for prospect events/clientsCommunicate with customers/clients to identify their needs and to ensure customer satisfactionRequirements Education, Skills & Knowledge:Preferred bachelor’s degree in business studies, business administration, or a related disciplineExperience in Event Coordinating/Planning or related positionExperience working with multiple departmental teamsExcellent communication; verbal, written and interpersonalStrong Organizational & Planning Skills,Great Teamwork and Problem-Solving SkillsProficient technical knowledge with the ability to use multiple platforms including MicrosoftMust be legally allowed to work in the USAAbility to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needsWorking Conditions:The work for this position will be in a climate controlled, smoke-free environment but the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, can raise to loud based on event.Work will be performed for up to eight hours per day. Weekend and holiday work will be required from time to time.While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
