Established in 1903, the Harris County Medical Society (HCMS) is the professional organization for physicians in Harris County and the largest county medical society in the nation, representing more than 13,000 physicians and medical students. An overview of the duties include: • Assist with various administrative tasks and projects • Specialty Medical Society general duties including maintaining websites, distribution of dues statements, composing newsletters • Specialty Medical Society and HCMS Branch meeting duties including making venue arrangements, handling guest speaker arrangements, drafting and distributing meeting announcements, creating flyers, establishing relationships with vendors, oversight of the meetings including A/V set-up and the registration table, collection of payments, and post-meeting wrap-up. Knowledge required is normally equivalent to the attainment of a high school diploma and some relatable work experience. Applicants must be physically able to efficiently perform the duties of the position which include: • Sedentary inside office work • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds • Sit, and stand for long periods of time • Occasionally pack and unpack boxes, supplies, and other items • Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds in person and via telephone • Entering text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a keyboard Work Location: Hybrid remote in Houston, TX 77004
