Performs difficult professional work planning, organizing, and supervising a variety of special recreation programs and activities through essential functions such as: plans and organizes programs to include special events and athletics; registers participants; prepares fields and facilities for activities; maintains records and files; supervises games and special events... while in progress to ensure staffing coverage and policies and procedures are followed and safety measures are being enforced; does related work as required. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Parks and Recreation Director. Supervision is exercised over subordinate full-time and seasonal staff. • Thorough knowledge of the principles, rules, materials, and equipment required for a variety of recreational activities • Ability to instruct participants • General knowledge of first aid practices and techniques • Ability to adhere to program standards and objectives outlined by department executive • Ability to resolve disputes with firmness and impartiality • Thorough knowledge of the organization and functions of the department and of general administrative policies and practices • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, associates, social agencies and the general public TO APPLY Please submit your application online at www.moorecountync.gov
