Programming Manager – Arts & Wellness Space

The Programming Manager is dynamic and culturally attuned to lead the development, curation, and execution of events and experiences at a multidisciplinary arts and wellness space in Downtown Los Angeles. This role is responsible for managing and helping shape a thoughtful, inclusive, and engaging calendar of programming designed to encourage participation, visibility, and shared use—creating a welcoming environment that is consistently active and accessible to the community. Key Responsibilities: Lead the planning, curation, and execution of a diverse calendar of programming, that may include art exhibitions, workshops, wellness classes, live performances, youth sports camps and community events.Build and maintain relationships with local artists, wellness practitioners, and cultural organizations, with an emphasis on uplifting creatives voices Develop culturally relevant programming that reflects the surrounding community, incorporating bilingual (Spanish/English) accessibility in content, marketing, and on-site experiences Manage the full lifecycle of events from concept and budgeting to logistics and post-event evaluation Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing and operations teams to promote events, drive attendance, and ensure seamless execution Identify and assist in building partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations that align with the space’s mission and audience Analyze attendance, audience and community feedback, and performance metrics to refine and evolve programming strategy Ensure all programming fosters an inclusive, welcoming, and community-centered environment Support and occasionally host or facilitate events, serving as an on-site representative of the organization Stay connected to emerging trends in contemporary art, wellness, and cultural programming within Los Angeles and the Chicano community 3–5+ years of experience in event programming, cultural programming, community engagement, or a related field Demonstrated experience curating and producing events, workshops, or activations from concept through execution Strong knowledge of Los Angeles’ arts, culture, and wellness landscape, particularly within DTLA and surrounding communities Familiarity with Chicano art, culture, and history, with the ability to translate that knowledge into authentic, community-centered programming Fluent in Spanish and English (written and verbal), with the ability to engage diverse audiences Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both internally and externally Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on event schedules High Level proficiency with common tools such as Google Workspace, event platforms and basic project management systems.
