The Sales & Events Coordinator will be responsible for sales development, planning and managing events, coordinating with clients, and ensuring exceptional customer service. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Professionally represent the organization in community and industry organizations and events • Engage and manage the catering sale process with prospects who contact the restaurant or sales office via phone or internet • Participate as a team player with all departments • Carry an active sales load • Develop and manage prospective catering jobs through the stages of inquiry, estimate, booking, and execution • Meet and exceed overall revenue objectives • Develop and engage in relationship-driven and long-term business relationships • Oversee and implement catering sales management platform strategies • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors • Enforce catering standards, policies, and procedures with all catering personnel • Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by health and safety standards • Maintain a system of accountability • Ability to be seen as a positive role model and strong leader • Ability to be self-motivated and take initiative • Must maintain a neat and clean appearance • Physical Requirements/ Environmental Conditions • Requires the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods • Occasionally requires the ability to manually move, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials • Ability to operate, clean and maintain all equipment required • Must have the flexibility to work and travel nights, weekends and holidays to coordinate events and promotions to assist with facilitating events onsite, handles last minute requests and changes, and ensures group events take place as contracted. Qualifications • Event Planning and Event Management skills • Strong Communication and Customer Service skills • Sales experience and capability to attract new clients • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities • Proficiency in using event management software and tools • Ability to work independently and in a team • Relevant experience in hospitality or event coordination is a plus • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, Communication, or a related field preferred • Minimum two years of catering or event sales experience • Minimum three years catering management experience • Relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable • Strong financial knowledge required • Driver’s License • A creative and analytical mind with strong attention to detail • Drive for results demonstrated through successful performance in prior sales performance • Time Management skills to meet commitments across multiple accounts and contacts • Possesses good communication skills to work with customers and team • Ability to direct performance of team and follow up with correction where needed
