Sales & Events Manager

Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage all aspects of private special event rentals and special event coordination, from prospecting and client acquisition • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets for internal, public, private, and corporate events • Proactively identify and pursue new event rental opportunities through networking, lead generation, and client outreach • Develop and nurture strong relationships with clients throughout the event planning process • Conduct engaging site tours that showcase our unique museum spaces and capabilities • Prepare detailed proposals, contracts, and event floor plans that align with client needs and company standards. • Collaborate and partner with Beverage & Events Manager for beverage program needs with client events and experiences. • Partner with events team and other departments as needed to ensure seamless event execution and client satisfaction • Collaborate with departmental and other colleagues to support internal Fernbank branded events that meet brand and service standards of excellence • Manage billing and payments using Altru database system • Attend booked events to greet clients, serve as the client's point of contact during events, and provide warm introductions to the Hospitality lead to ensure seamless execution of the event • Attend and represent the organization at professional networking and industry events to build visibility and generate business opportunities • Track and report on sales performance, trends, and client feedback to inform strategic decisions. • Supervise Event Coordinators and provide training on sales techniques and event logistics with a focus on operational excellence • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and preferences to design customized event plans, where possible, to deliver an exceptional customer experience • Contribute to overall museum goals and special events projects as needed Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, Marketing, or related field • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in event sales, hospitality sales, or a related role • Proven sales track record with demonstrated ability to meet and exceed revenue goals • Proven track record in client-facing sales or customer service roles • Previous People Management Experience • Will be required to work some holidays, nights and weekends
