• Analyzing costs of hotel, air, and ground transportation by assessing the site's appropriateness in relation to the meeting objectives and audience • Conducts site inspections of meeting facilities to determine facility capabilities of handling company meetings and requirements • Creates action plans with timelines per project; adheres to schedule; Maintains confidentiality in all phases of responsibility. • Provides marketing and sales project management support for US Commercial Marketing team • The planner must continually monitor the participant responses and make determinations to release space that won't be needed • On the other hand, when additional attendees are added at the last minute and the hotel is sold out, the planner must resolve the problem of obtaining additional space without incurring liability to the company. • Incumbent must resolve whatever problems may arise to achieve meeting objectives. • Strong human relations skills and ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds • Assertive but diplomatic in interacting with the various vendors and company employees at the meeting site to ensure all aspects of meeting proceed as planned and meeting objectives are fulfilled. • Strong negotiation skills to be able to reduce financial penalties.
