Senior Event Manager

Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience. • Minimum three years in hospitality sales related function • Above average proficiency with Microsoft Office • Ability to read and comprehend complex correspondence. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Knowledge of meetings & event management Marriott Brand Standards & processes • Strong selling skills and understanding of sales processes • Strong customer development and relationship management skills • Knowledge of contract management and legalities • Ability to manage guest room and meeting space inventories • Knowledge of menu planning, food presentation and banquet and event service operations • Knowledge of event technology products and services • Knowledge of current trends in event management and event technology • Knowledge of overall hotel operations as they affect department • Strong organization skills • Financial management skills e.g., ability to analyze P&L statements, develop basic operating budgets, forecasting and basic capital expenditure planning • Ability to creatively execute against the strategy and drive results • Ability to originate and invent new ways to create a unique guest experience and maximize revenue • Ability to take constructive action without relying on directions form others • Ability to network and build internal (including hotel to hotel) relationships to grow the meetings & events business • Effective decision-making skills; can choose a course of action amongst options involving uncertainty or risk • Strong problem-solving skills; encourages new innovative solutions when appropriate • Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing) • Effective influence skills • Good negotiation skills • Other duties as assigned.
