Senior Event Manager| Rupp Arena

Overview Will be assigned higher profile clients to include regional and national conventions along with small-scale Arena events. This role pays a yearly salary of $65,000 to $75,000 This position will remain open until October 15, 2024 Responsibilities • Serves as a resource for the FT Event Manager staff and be the subject matter expert for all event execution, training, and help as needed • Supervises staff and oversees all aspects of event operational support related to large scale convention center events • Serve as department lead for select meetings and trainings • Assist the DOE and ADOE in the development, and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities of event related programs • Advance, plan, service, and supervise all assigned events • Provide leadership and guidance for event personnel • Analyze challenges, identify alternative solutions, and project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of organizational objectives • Communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with lessees/clients, co-workers, part-time staff, contractors, patrons/public and municipal officials • Work a flexible schedule, including long nights, early mornings, weekends & holidays as needed • Function as a liaison between users of the facility and the facility staff • Recommend and evaluate required event staffing levels for assigned events • Investigate and resolve event-related complaints in a professional manner ensuring customer satisfaction • Communicate with municipal officials, including police, fire and medical services, event staff and public to ensure security of patrons and events run smoothly • Review emergency planning procedures with all event staff for each event • Coordinate service needs with Food and Beverage provider & make hospitality arrangements as needed • Serve as Manager on Duty as scheduled • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
