Senior Event Manager, Texas

CSI DMC Austin, Texas

This position will primarily manage programs in the Austin, TX market but is expected to regularly travel for programs throughout Texas with the possibility of supporting other CSI Destinations as needed. • Self-educate or partake in CSI training opportunities • Be aware of and abide by company policies in employee manual and company guidelines • Serve as team lead on large-scale programs and bring leadership and guidance to team members, serving as “24/7” contact for clients during programs • Understand and follow local laws and regulations in program destinations • Mentor and guide junior event managers in professional development and job performance with oversight from A/DOEM/VP • Assist local A/DOEM/VP with training of new team members • Assist with internship program to include resume review, interviews, management and offboarding • Assist with interviewing and onboarding the local IC/TD staffing pool • Serve as a resource for other CSI DMC Traveling Account Executives and Event Managers • Attend all scheduled Operations Meetings and Company Meetings, chair meetings in absence of Director of Event Management. • 6+ years of experience in the event industry, DMC experience preferred • 4+ years of previous project and/or client management • 2+ years of people management • Operational experience with DMCs • Solid experience with logistics involved with event planning and ability to manage clients • Experience with traveling programs and working in new destinations • Strong transportation management skills, experience with independently managing large transportation moves/manifests. • Strong experience finding, vetting and negotiating with new vendors in new • Experience managing event budgets from $500,000 to over $2 Million • Ability to manage multiple clients and multiple programs at any one time • Outstanding customer service skills, particularly conflict resolution and being solution oriented • Strong organizational and time management skills • Experience with budget management, financial tracking and contract negotiations • Proficiency in Microsoft office products, especially Excel, to maintain program financial data • Self-starter, willing to sell when not operating to bring in new business • Able to work autonomously yet collaborate as part of a team on workflows • Ability to learn new software introduced at CSI (knowledge of Salesforce a plus). • Must be able to legally drive a car • Must be able to work on feet 12-14 hours a day on-site as needed • Must be eligible to work in the US.
