Consults with clients and vendors regarding detailed arrangements; oversees and ensures smooth execution of assigned events; serves as contact for client needs before, during, and after events; proactively works with event schedule and student staff to determine upcoming event needs; coordinates information about events with other university departments; available to work evenings and weekends.Minimum Education Requirement:Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.Qualifications:Required: Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience; at least 4 years of full-time event planning experience; excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills; flexibility in schedule, including evening and weekend work in conjunction with scheduled events.Desired: 4-8 years of full-time event planning experience; 2-3 years of experience with food and beverage or catering services; supervisory experience; 2-4 years of experience using event management and room diagramming software; high volume food and beverage or catering experience; 2-4 years of experience servicing and/or selling to clients in a university setting; excellent rapport with clients, follow through skills; working knowledge of audiovisual equipment.Additional Information:CompensationThe targeted salary for this position is $44,000-$58,000.CRM: Function: Sales and Customer Service, Sub Function: Event Services, Career Band/Level: Specialist 3.Location:Ohio Union (0161)Position Type:RegularScheduled Hours:40Shift:Varying ShiftsFinal candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
