Position Summary
As the Senior Events Manager, you will oversee the Americas event portfolio, which encompasses in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, workshops, and webinars. Your strategic vision will set priorities, success metrics, and frameworks to ensure our events captivate members, elevate our brand, and achieve robust revenue performance. You will also be the global program leader for ISC2's virtual events and webinar programs, driving enhancements in design, technology, scalability, and attendee experiences.
In this role, you will lead and mentor a high-performing team of event planners, ensuring the successful delivery of financially optimized events that further our organizational goals for member engagement, education, and growth.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Collaboration Provide strategic leadership and governance for the Americas Event team to ensure seamless delivery across all event formats. Lead annual event planning, developing goals, metrics, and timelines that align with organizational objectives. Manage regional event budgets, forecasts, and pricing models to facilitate informed decision-making. Review event performance metrics and attendee feedback to inform future improvements and optimize the portfolio. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance audience acquisition and programming relevance. Establish team priorities and operating procedures to ensure balanced workloads and excellence in operations. Foster a culture of inclusivity and teamwork, aligned with ISC2 values. Budgeting and Reporting Oversee and deliver performance reports evaluating expenses, revenue contributions, attendee feedback, and ROI. Translate performance data into actionable recommendations for leadership regarding resource allocation and future initiatives. Conduct competitive analyses and gather audience insights to benchmark and identify growth opportunities. Manage event budgets, ensuring financial accuracy and responsible spending. Develop streamlined processes and operational frameworks for the event team. Identify and mitigate operational, technical, and financial risks. Program Ownership: Virtual Events & Webinars Define the vision and roadmap for ISC2's virtual event and webinar strategy, focusing on scalability and long-term value. Lead the direction for programming, technology, attendee engagement, and partner integration for virtual offerings. Ensure high-quality delivery by collaborating with production teams. Work with marketing, communications, business development, and content teams to enhance virtual engagement. Oversee the global webinar calendar and production processes to maintain quality. Operational & Technical Oversight Manage ISC2's event technology ecosystem, including vendor relationships and data integration. Assess technology performance, identify gaps, and promote enhancements that improve efficiency and attendee satisfaction. Stay informed about the latest in event management trends and best practices. Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance workflows and document best practices. Gain an understanding of ISC2 certifications and membership benefits to elevate event experiences. Proven leadership experience in guiding remote teams and developing talent. Qualifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office and willingness to learn new software. Experience working cross-functionally in a global context. Experience in leading teams, ideally in a remote setting. Familiarity with AI tools or a readiness to learn. Education and Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field. 10+ years of experience managing in-person, hybrid, and virtual events. 5+ years working with virtual platforms and event technology (CVENT or similar). CMP or other event certifications preferred. Background in cybersecurity, technology, SaaS, or membership associations is highly desirable. Experience with event technology, mobile apps, and CRM integrations is a plus. Physical and Mental Demands
Ability to work extended hours as needed to support events. Willingness to travel domestically up to 20% of the time.
