The Meetings & Events Senior Manager will be responsible for the planning and execution of corporate events and programs in support of Vertex's culture and local community objectives. The majority of these events and programs will take place at the company's global headquarters in Boston. Key Duties And Responsibilities • Manage the planning, budgeting and coordination of internal and external events • Overall project management to determine needs, scope, venue, flow, staffing and event promotions • Develop, manage and track budgets • Manage invitation process • Negotiate and collaborate with internal partners (Operations, Security, Corporate Services) and external vendors (caterers, decorators, A/V providers) to coordinate logistics and other event-related needs • Coordinate events with external partners, as needed • Coordinate employee events at Boston headquarters • Manage recurring events such as all-employee and leadership meetings • Lead planning and execution of all-employee events such as Family Open House • Assist our community team with the implementation of our annual employee volunteer day (Day of Service) • Coordinate with global colleagues, as needed • Serve as a communications advisor to internal stakeholders with employee communication program needs • Assist with ongoing cultural initiatives, such as employee recognition, patients talks, diversity and inclusion events, innovation showcases and more Vertex is a global biotechnology company that invests in scientific innovation.
