The Special Event Coordinator enhances the Atlanta Humane Society's community presence through strategic event planning, execution, relationship building, and fundraising. This full-time role reports to the Director of Special Events, overseeing adoption and fundraising events, managing key aspects of the Bow Wow Brunch, and various projects as assigned. • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to promote events and build awareness of community engagement activities. • Aid in managing Event Team inventory. • At least three years of related event experience, preferably in development emphasizing non-profit event fundraising • Demonstrate proficiency in computer systems and software, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and platforms as needed • Working knowledge of Salesforce software or other CRM preferred • Interpersonal skills to problem solve and resolve conflict • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment • Working knowledge of animal welfare issues is desirable • Excellent organizational planning and proven ability to meet deadlines • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing • Self-reliant, highly motivated, and positive attitude • Methodical and detail-oriented with ability to multi-task • Must possess a valid Georgia drivers license in good standing or be able to obtain a valid Georgia drivers license • Must be available on weekends and extended hours as necessary to accommodate event needs
