The friars live and serve among those facing challenging circumstances, witnessing to the Gospel through a life of prayer and active ministry. This role is responsible for planning and executing events for several of the Detroit- and Milwaukee-based ministries of the Province, including the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, Solanus Casey Center, Capuchin Community Services and Capuchin Retreat. Develop and maintain community contacts (individual and organizations) who support the mission of the various ministries and the Province.Solicit sponsorships and coordinate silent and live auctions.In coordination with the Director of Development, prepare an annual event plan with budget.Serve as the primary point of contact for third party event planners. Solanus Casey, St. Francis of Assisi, Franciscan spiritualty, and the Catholic tradition, or willingness to learn.Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge or other donor tracking software.Effective Microsoft Office skills.Effective communication, problem solving, interpersonal and organizational skills.Ability to work in a faith-based organization with an appreciation for both the ministerial and social service nature of the work.Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of colleagues, donors, and the general public.Ability to develop appealing communications and publications, and work effectively with the Province’s Office of Public Relations.
