The Special Events Manager will leverage knowledge and research of our audience and community for events that engage, educate and excite. Represent Gathering Place in a positive and professional manner. • Establish definable goals. • Plan, organize and direct all public facing events both initiated and co-hosted by Gathering Place in a manner that builds our brand and complies with event guidelines and operating procedures while delivering a world-class guest experience; • Manage all components of event planning including but not limited to cost negotiation and services with vendors; book event space, event layout, timelines, coordinate food and beverage, order all supplies/decorations, coordinate audio/visual equipment & operation, making travel arrangements, team communication and determining resource needs; • Responsible for day-of event execution logistics, including managing volunteers, event staff, scheduling rehearsals, sound checks, load-in/out, set-up and breakdown, and communication with park partners; • Work collaboratively and proactively with Marketing and Community Relations to create collateral materials to meet event needs and sponsor requirements; • Follow up after events by performing a post-event analysis to assess opportunities and make recommendations for improving events; • Lead all event planning and production meetings and discussions. • Must be willing and able to work varied/long shifts including holidays, weekends, and events; • Must be able to work in an outdoor environment during all seasons and may be exposed to any of the following: excessive noise, extreme temperatures, wind, rain, humidity, and dust; • Must be able to lift 50lbs and safely climb ladders; • Must be able to be standing/walking for prolonged periods of time;
