Special Events Manager

This position works with the Director of Special Events & Sponsorship for El Paso Live to develop, coordinate and manage all special event activities; shows, festivals, and series that are either owned, co-owned, presented, or co-presented by Destination El Paso. • Acts as creative manager and oversees logistics for special events including but not limited to entertainment, vendors, layouts, staffing, volunteers, branding and coordination between departments. • Assists with creating and implementing marketing plans, promotions and public relations initiatives for special events. Qualifications & Skills • Excellent written and verbal skills, including strong proof-reading • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines • Financial competence, ability to manage a budget, Profit/Loss responsibility • Ability to effectively supervise and motivate staff • Excellent communication skills and ability to handle client meetings and speak in front of groups.
