The role of Special Events Manager is integral to the Philanthropy Team at the J. Beyond the signature J'la event, the Special Events Manager will collaborate on other philanthropy-related events including the annual Millstone event and the J's annual meeting, supporting a broad donor engagement strategy. This full-time role demands an individual who is adept at creating detailed event timelines, managing budgets, and handling all aspects of event logistics with precision. • ba/bs degree preferred • 2 to 5 years of increasingly responsible event planning experience with demonstrated success in special events • experience with sponsorships, annual campaigns and direct mail preferred • 2 to 5 years' experience working with volunteers strongly desired • strong interpersonal and communication skills written and oral • ability to organize and implement strategic plans including financial, business development, marketing, branding • ability to work independently as well as part of a team • able to follow through on assignments and prioritize competing tasks • some Judaic knowledge and a deep commitment to the J mission and vision preferred • proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access • proficiency using Salesforce and online event platforms like Classy and Traction Rec strongly desired or demonstrated ability to learn new software programs
