Salary : $61,393.49 - $92,090.23 Annually Location : Fl 33161, FL Job Type: Full-Time Job Number: 2013-00403 Department: Parks & Recreation Opening Date: 02/19/2026 Closing Date: 2/24/2026 11:59 PM Eastern The City of North Miami Parks & Recreation Department is searching for a talented and motivated Special Event Supervisor to organize outstanding and unforgettable events. ; Identify the client's requirements and expectations for each event; Liaise with vendors, exhibitors, and stakeholders during the event planning process to ensure everything is in order; Manage all event set-up, tear down, and follow-up processes; Maintain event budgets; Coordinates the work activities of employees and volunteers at events; Supervisory responsibility over volunteer staff at events; Book venues, entertainers, photographers, and schedule speakers; Conduct final inspections on the day of the event to ensure everything adheres to the client's standards; Researches and recommends opportunities for special events and community partnerships with outside organizations; Facilitate various sponsorship sale opportunities; Assess an event's overall success and submit findings; Well-organized with excellent multi-tasking abilities; Outstanding vendor management skills; Strong communication and interpersonal skills. The Special Events Supervisor will need 3 years or more of experience and be responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing city and community events. Knowledge of design principles; Knowledge of municipal government operations; Knowledge of event planning methods and principles; Skilled in prioritizing, organizing, and managing multiple simultaneous projects; Skilled in preparing clear and concise reports, including oral, written, and audio/visual; presentations; Skilled in applying independent judgment, personal discretion, and resourcefulness in interpreting and applying guidelines; Skilled in developing marketing and advertisement materials; Skilled in gathering and analyzing information and making recommendations based on findings and in support of organizational goals; Skilled in operating a computer and related software applications; Skilled in communicating effectively with a variety of individuals.
