Summer Events Coordination Intern

The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame (MSHOF) is excited to invite applicants for a Summer Events Coordination Intern position. This internship presents a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event coordination, fundraising, marketing, museum studies, public relations, and sports management during our peak summer months. The intern will play a vital role in supporting our team during key events aimed at fundraising and enhancing museum visitation.

Intern Job Responsibilities:

Assist in daily museum operations, including ticketing, check-in, and leading engaging group tours.Promptly answer office phone inquiries, respond to rental and group requests, or appropriately redirect calls.Support the Race Director in preparing for the Watermelon Classic 5k, ensuring a successful event.Help collect and organize silent auction items, while also learning to navigate OneCause mobile bidding software for our fundraising events.Work Hours & Benefits:

The MSHOF team comprises five dedicated full-time employees. As the Summer Intern, you will collaborate with all staff members, assisting with diverse tasks to meet our goals and deadlines. The intern is required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with increased hours during the final week of June and July. Scheduling will be flexible to accommodate the intern's availability and museum needs. Flexibility to work on Saturday, July 4th for the Watermelon Classic 5k and outside of normal hours on July 31st and August 1st for the Hall of Fame Induction Banquet is essential. While not mandatory, moderate Saturday availability is preferred.

This hourly-paid internship can also fulfill graduation requirements where applicable.

Currently enrolled in the 3rd or 4th year of a college program.
