Temporary Events Specialist II (Part-Time)

The Temporary Events Specialist provides direct facility support for all programming produced by the Office of Student Engagement at the University of Louisville and all event execution at the Swain Student Activities Center (SAC), The Red Barn, Miller Information Technology Center (MITC), and Strickler Auditorium. Essential Duties And Responsibilities • Ensure event function spaces are properly set according to client’s plans and departmental standards in a timely manner and are ready for use by clients • Ensure facility spaces operate safely, securely, and efficiently to support campus engagement • Collaborates with students, faculty, staff, and external guests to ensure seamless event experiences • Responds with urgency and courtesy to last-minute requests and ensures client expectations are met, and event visions are realized • Acts as service host for events within reserved event spaces • Coordinates events within the Student Activity Center (SAC), the Red Barn, Miller Information Technology Center (MITC), and Strickler Auditorium including equipment rental and usage • Provides consultation to clients on AV capabilities and supports the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of AV systems during events • Maintains and preps AV equipment including sound systems, projectors, lighting, and microphones • Manages setting up and striking of all AV and technical equipment for events and programs • Manages availability and readiness of event spaces to support academic and student-based programming • Collaborate with Senior Director to ensure appropriate staffing for SAC, Red Barn, MITC, and Strickler Auditorium events, as well as facility coverage in Bingham Humanities and Strickler Hall weekday evenings and on weekends • Supervises junior and student staff, planning assignments and supporting task execution • Assists Senior Director to onboard and train event services student staff as required • Interacts collaboratively with University IT, campus videographers, and external vendors to support technological needs and align with campus-wide IT practices • Collaborate with the SAC Events Team to grow revenue from external clients through enhanced service delivery and efficient use of facilities including the Red Barn, MITC, and Strickler Auditorium This is a temporary, part-time, non-exempt position that will work up to 29 hours each workweek and is intended to be filled for a duration of up to six months based on department needs, programming, and/or staffing.
