The Special Events Coordinator is responsible for two primary functions: overseeing the permitting and support of community-led events and managing the planning and execution of City-produced events. For community events, the Special Events Coordinator organizes the end-to-end permitting process for all public events held on City property or impacting City infrastructure. The role also involves the development and implementation of safety and risk management protocols for large-scale gatherings such as parades, festivals, concerts, and demonstrations. • Serve as primary contact for City departments involved in City event coordination and support. • Ensure compliance with safety and risk management procedures for City events and participate in relevant trainings and assessments.
