Volunteer and Event Coordinator, part-time

The Event and Volunteer Services Coordinator is a part-time role (up to 28–29 hours per week) and is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the ECH volunteer program – identifying volunteer opportunities within the agency, recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers to support departments, fundraising, and other agency activities. Identify, recruit and select individual and group volunteers with skills that fit the agency’s needs. Coach staff to work effectively and cooperatively with volunteers. Coordinate logistics of community events such as back-to-school and other community-based fairs, and in-kind donation drives, including the ECH Christmas Campaign. Bachelor’s degree preferred One or more years experience working with volunteers, community or events Ability to embrace the mission and values of the agency and put them into practice Knowledge of volunteer management principles and practices Strong ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with volunteers, staff, donors and community Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing Proficiency in computer applications, such as Microsoft Office 365 programs, social media applications and internet; Blackbaud or other CRM experience preferred Ability to conduct oneself in a calm and professional manner when working with all internal and external constituents, even in difficult situations Willingness to adjust hours to accommodate the needs of the position Strong organization, planning and record-keeping skills Ability to effectively manage a wide array of tasks, projects, and responsibilities simultaneously Meet physical demands of occasionally lifting and moving items, including equipment and supplies needed for events and material donations received, climbing stairs on a regular basis Have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel around the region for meetings and donation pick-ups when requested.
