About the Opportunity: This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Banquet Event Planning Assistant. The successful candidate will have a strong background in sales, event planning, or a related field, and be able to provide exceptional support to our Sales Director. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating weddings and events, including client communication, menu planning, and scheduling follow-up appointments. Key Responsibilities: - Assist the Sales Director in planning and coordinating weddings and events, including client communication, menu planning, and scheduling follow-up appointments - Use databases to create and distribute Banquet Event Orders and reports - Ensure that all communications with clients are responded to promptly - Attend weekly Banquet Event Order meetings, take notes, and update Banquet Event Orders as needed - Collaborate with Catering staff to ensure information on Banquet Event Orders is updated and all details are carried out as contracted - Manage invoices and track payments - Coordinate with vendors and provide day-of operations support and backup Requirements: - 2+ years of experience in a related field, preferably in sales or event planning - Strong organizational and time management skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel - Familiarity with catering software and micros an asset
