Wedding and Event Manager

RYE Venue Management manages wedding and event spaces in West Michigan and is looking for a highly energetic, detail-focused, event manager to join the team. This position prepares the venues for upcoming events and will be on site the day of the event to ensure clients who are hosting an event have everything they need. This position gives anyone, seasoned or interested, in the events industry an opportunity to oversee events firsthand—the perfect position for anyone looking to play a key role in getting our clients' visions for their big day across the finish line. Job Details Job Type: Part‐time. Hours will vary but this is mostly a part‐time position focused on Fridays and Saturdays, with weekday opportunities sprinkled in. Weeknight availability preferred. Pay: $18.00 per hour. Work Location: In person. Event Responsibilities Setting up venues for events, including chairs and building stages. Ensuring that seating arrangements adhere to floor chart. Working with clients and vendors to ensure venues are providing all items necessary to execute events. Ensuring the event hall is clean and organized. Adhering to event safety standards. Ensuring excellent levels of customer service. Overseeing/training of part-time staff. Welcoming clients, guests, and vendors. Providing useful information to event‐goers. Inspecting equipment for damage after use and checking it against an inventory list. Packing up equipment when the event is completed. Qualifications Weekend availability. Outstanding organizational skills. Diligence and attention to detail. Exceptional interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanor. Excellent written and verbal communication. Physical stamina and high energy levels. Good problem‐solving skills. Ability to perform under stress. Excellent multitasking ability. Conflict management skills. May be required to lift items up to 15‐20 lbs.
