## About This Role
Leigh & Co. Events is a fast-growing wedding planning company with a presence across the United States, and we're looking for a Wedding Coordinator based in the Knoxville, Tennessee area. This is a contract position that offers you the flexibility to set your own schedule while working on exciting wedding projects. We provide thorough training, and we're especially interested in candidates ready to join us for the 2026 season and beyond.
As a Lead Wedding Coordinator, you'll be the primary onsite planner for engaged couples, collaborating closely with our client experience managers during the planning phase and assistant coordinators on the day of the event. The role takes roughly 10 to 12 hours per wedding project, and you are paid $300 per wedding.
### What You'll Do
About six weeks before the wedding, you'll have a final details call with the couple to lock down logistics, timeline, and expectations. The day prior, you'll lead the ceremony rehearsal, making sure everyone from the wedding party to family members knows their cues, timing, and the flow of the processional.
On the wedding day itself, you'll be the couple's calm, solution-focused advocate, overseeing everything from ceremony and reception setup to vendor coordination and final breakdown. You'll greet all arriving vendors, communicate setup instructions clearly, and act as the main point of contact throughout the day. You'll also coordinate placement of personal items like escort cards, menus, table numbers, favors, the guest book, and any decorative elements. Supporting the wedding party and family with guidance and timing is a key part of the role, as is making sure gifts, the guest book, and any personal decor are properly packed at the end of the evening. You'll need to handle last-minute changes or issues with a proactive, guest-first mindset, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
### Who We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who can reliably work weekends and has at least two years of experience as a wedding planner or event planner. Strong communication skills and a sharp attention to detail are must-haves, along with reliable transportation. You should also be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds comfortably.
If you're organized, level-headed under pressure, and passionate about making wedding days incredible, this is a fantastic opportunity to work with a supportive team on your own terms.
