Verge Events is a luxury wedding planning and design company based in Asheville, North Carolina, specializing in high-end weddings at premier venues throughout the region. We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Assistant Wedding Planner to join our team and support the execution of exceptional events.

This role is ideal for someone with a background in hospitality or events who is looking to grow within the wedding industry. It also offers a flexible opportunity for supplemental income with the potential to transition into a full-time, senior planning role over time.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with event setup and breakdown, ensuring all design elements are executed to Verge Events’ standards
Support lead planners during wedding rehearsals, ceremonies, and receptions
Provide on-site coordination assistance, including vendor communication and timeline management
Help maintain organization and flow of events while delivering a high level of client service
Occasionally assist with office tasks during the week, including prep work and logistics coordination

Qualifications

Previous experience in hospitality, events, or customer service preferred
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills
Willingness to work evenings and weekends (event-based schedule)
Ability to lift and carry event materials as needed

Additional Details

Some travel required, primarily to the Highlands, NC area (travel expenses covered)
Flexible, part-time schedule based on event calendar

Pay: $23.59 - $45.00 per hour
