Activation & Event Coordinator

The Downtown Spokane Partnership (DSP) is hiring an Activation & Event Coordinator to lead the work that makes downtown Spokane active, engaging, and worth showing up for.

This is ahands-on, highly visible role at the center of downtown activity - planning and delivering events and activations that drive energy, foot traffic, and economic vitality.

What You'll Do

Lead Downtown Activations
• Plan and execute events that enhance downtown vibrancy
• Manage logistics including vendors, permits, and coordination
• Track performance and continuously improve programming

Build Partnerships
• Work with businesses, community partners, and event producers
• Serve as a liaison between DSP, the City, and stakeholders
• Support programming that drives foot traffic and engagement

Support Marketing & Promotion
• Partner with DSP's Marketing team to promote events
• Contribute ideas to strengthen visibility and participation

Support DSP Events & Operations
• Assist with key events like the Annual Meeting and State of Downtown
• Maintain event calendar, budgets, and inventory
• Help coordinate seasonal staff and on-the-ground support

What It Takes
• 2+ years of experience in event coordination or related work
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and execute under pressure
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed

The Work Environment

This role is primarily based in downtown Spokane, with flexibility where appropriate. Evening and weekend work is expected - this is community-facing, event-driven work.

DSP is a private, 501(c)(6) nonprofit and the manager of the Downtown Spokane Business Improvement District, serving nearly 1,500 businesses and property owners across 80 blocks .

We exist to ensure downtown Spokane is a place people want to be - through programming, partnerships, and activation.
