Assistant Event Manager

Our team executes some of Houston’s most high-profile weddings, galas, and corporate events, and we are seeking an Assistant Event Manager to uphold and elevate our standard of excellence. Key Responsibilities • Partner with the Event Manager to execute events of varying scale and complexity with precision and grace • Lead and support service staff, ensuring tasks are delegated effectively and standards are consistently met • Anticipate client needs and resolve challenges quickly and professionally • Coordinate with culinary, logistics, and operations teams to ensure flawless event execution • Maintain the highest levels of service, presentation, and professionalism at all times • Uphold safety, sanitation, and compliance standards while managing staff and event logistics • Represent Bastion Events with a polished, confident, and client-centered presence • Will require travel to different event locations Qualifications • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in catering, hospitality, or event management (luxury or fine dining experience preferred) • Exceptional leadership, delegation, and team management skills • Excellent communication and client service abilities with a calm, professional demeanor under pressure • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously • Must be flexible and available to work weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed • Reliable transportation (travel up to 50 miles may be required) • Professional appearance, positive attitude, and dedication to excellence • Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods of time and lift up to 25 lbs.
