Salary: $18 per hour - Contract worker

Hours: Mainly Friday – Sunday from 4pm – 2am (rarely work weekdays and timing varies based on each event)

The Purpose of the position is to assist the event manager with all aspects of the event. The main duties consist of greeting and guiding guests throughout the event, help guide vendors and the buffet lines, consistently update event manager on tasks, and manage the barback, busser, and dishwasher. This position also includes keeping the restrooms tidy/stocked, pick up any loose trash, broken glassware or spills, bussing glassware to the kitchen to be cleaned, sorting glassware in glass racks, assisting the event manager with any event needs, and making sure the venue is organized before leaving. Lux Vita is looking for someone who can self-manage and has great teamwork skills. This is a fast paced job where you are on your feet the entire event.

· Guide vendors and guests to designated areas

· Check in with Event Manager throughout event if they need anything and with updates in progress

· Be ready and flexible for any event changes

· Help grab vendors and guests anything they need

· Talk to caterer about the buffet line, tell them the most efficient routes and guide guests in buffet line

· Adjust venue lighting when needed, always check with event manager first!

· Keep the restrooms clean and restock toilet paper and paper napkins when needed

· Manage the bussers and dishwasher to keep them on track

· Check in with bar staff if they need assistance

· Pick up spills and breaks/loose trash throughout the event

· Help bus glassware and clean throughout event

· Help fill/refill water carafes throughout event

· Help barback take out bar trash

· Sort glassware in the dish pit into different categories for the dishwasher to place in the industrial dishwasher

· Help Clean glass rack dollies by either spraying them down or hand washing them

· Grab any dirty glasses, dollies, and glass racks from the bar when needed

· Help keep the kitchen doors closed when possible

· Sort Glassware in back of house once dishes are complete

· Ability to respond to emergency situations to avoid endangering themselves or others

· Flexible to work tradeshows or open houses

Academic:

· There are no academic requirements

Work experience and skills:

· Work in an efficient manner independently

· Strong teamwork skills

· Efficient and on task

· Managed people before is preferred

· Listens well and communicates well with anyone

· Nice demeanor even if getting yelled at (sometimes this happens with drunk/unhappy guests or vendors)

· Capacity to stand and walk for long hours

· Capability to lift up to 50 pounds several times a day

· Ability to place cases, beverage equipment, utensils and glassware on both low and high shelves

· Ability to work in hot and damp environment

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
