W-2 is the default lane, and it's the right one for most techs. Being in the greater Spokane area is a plus (our shop and most load-outs start here), but it's not required. Driving: Valid driver's license, an insurable driving record, and the ability to obtain a DOT medical card are required (we pay for the DOT physical); techs drive our 16' and 26' box trucks to move equipment between the shop and venues. For W-2 techs, yes: travel hours are on the clock, and hotels and per diem are covered. The trial is working a full event with us at the rate we agree on in your tech chat: on payroll if W-2, invoiced under your subcontract if B2B.
