Communications and Events Coordinator

To this end, AFI directly assists artists who have experienced persecution, censorship, or other restrictions on their freedom of expression, and supports artists who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing progressive social change and fundamental human rights. Key Responsibilities: • Communications • Lead the production of compelling social media, digital marketing, and web-based content for AFI • Produce regular email newsletters on MailChimp to AFI’s general audience • Produce weekly social media content to AFI’s Instagram, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn audiences • Implement systems and processes to streamline social media management and ensure consistent, high-quality content (e.g. social media calendars, content review workflow) • Work with AFI staff and artists to balance intersecting communications needs as well as security interests for at-risk artists • Develop and standardize organization voice and visual branding across all external-facing assets • Analyze digital marketing performance metrics and provide regular recommendations based on industry trends and audience engagement • Educate team members on best practices, emerging trends, and innovative strategies in social media marketing • Events • Co-lead curation and production of events supporting AFI’s mission. Production responsibilities include site selection, space reservations, vendor selection and management, A/V setup, photographer or videographer booking, and other event-related logistics • Liaise with AFI staff and artists to understand the goals of, visions for, and scheduling of events • Liaise with partner organizations, venues, and external consultants to implement AFI’s visions for events • Coordinate transportation and accommodations for artists • Collect all assets from participating artists, venues, and organizational partners • Monitor and record event expenditures in line with event budget • Support post-production processing of invoices for artists and venues, event budget reconciliation, and development of post-event reports and communications Benefits: • Flexible WFH arrangements • Generous PTO with every other Friday off Please apply here on Indeed or submit your resume as well as a detailed cover letter outlining your relevant experience and why you are interested in this position to [email protected].
